Sponsors, affiliates, sales – oh my!
There are many ways to make money as a blogger/freelancer/self-employed creative these days, and your business finances are your personal finances. But, how do you know what you need to be making in order to afford your life? How much do you “pay yourself?” In the session Make That Money!, Shannon Lee Simmons of The New School of Finance will walk you through how to organize the different areas of revenue that you have, from affiliates, sales and sponsors and what to do with that money so that your business and personal life both financially function. Not one or the other.
Shannon is a financial planner, founder of the New School of Finance and author of Worry Free Money (available December 2017). She is widely recognized as a trailblazer in the Canadian financial planning industry and an expert in Millennial personal finances and money in the digital world. She was named one of Canada’s Top 30 Under 30 and she recently won the Notable Award for Best In Finance. She has a monthly personal finance column in the Globe and Mail and is a personal finance expert on CBC’s On The Money and Metro Morning.
