Allow us to properly introduce you to our all-star panel for September 13th’s exciting lunch keynote presentation, sponsored by HGTV Canada!
Moderating again this year is the ever-fabulous Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault, who appears as a regular expert on Cityline and blogs at Hue La La. On this year’s panel are HGTV’s real estate and renovation expert Scott McGillivray, celebrity-blogger Monika Hibbs, and our own founder, blogger, and creative catalyst Jennifer Flores.
These three speakers will come together on September 13 at 12:30pm to discuss The Entrepreneurial Mindset: Finding Success Online and Offline and the incredible opportunities that you can create for yourself using your blog. How can your blog become your calling card, your ultra-resume, your ticket to the career of your dreams?
Scott McGillivray has managed to transform a degree in commerce into a varied career which includes hosting and producing his own television series Income Property (going into its tenth season); appearing as a guest expert on television, in publications, and at trade shows across North America; running his own real estate investment business; and launching the Lifetime Wealth Academy – a program designed to educate potential real estate and property investors. This is a man who knows how to parlay his passion into a multitude of successful projects, redefining the concept of a “business” career.
Blogger Monika Hibbs has created a hugely successful and inspirational blog The Doctor’s Closet by focussing on topics near and dear to most of us – design, fashion, and family. Monika then launched an online store, using her tastemaker talents to showcase (and sell) her favourite home goods, apparel, and gifts. She has recently rebranded and relaunched her blog as MH by Monika Hibbs, and is poised to take on the world of styling and design by capitalizing on her blogging-developed signature style.
BlogPodium co-founder Jennifer Flores originally launched her blog Rambling Renovators in 2007 as many of us did – creating an outlet for her overflowing passion for design and creative ideas. Her blog soon brought new opportunities her way, including appearances on The Nate Berkus Show, Cityline, and Breakfast Television; features in Style at Home, the Globe and Mail, and other North American publications; and increasing online prominence. In 2012, her blog was recognized by Babble.com as one of the Top 50 Design Blogs for Moms. Meanwhile, she also published a book; founded Pecha Kucha Toronto, and co-founded our beloved BlogPodium in 2010. This girl knows how to grow great things out of a lifestyle blog, and she’s only getting started.
Together with moderator Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault, these three energetic and entrepreneurial creatives will inspire you to think differently about your potential career prospects, and help you see your personal blog as but one tool in your arsenal to actively create the life you want. Prepare to be inspired and get excited about the amazing potential of your blog!
